New parent governor announced
Caroline Grounds has been voted onto the governing body of Brookmans Park School as a parent governor.
She polled 62 votes with runner up candidate, Carl Maddox polling 29.
The returns were disappointing. Of the 200 families entitled to a vote, a total of around 400 votes, only 91 did.
In her biographical details, submitted for the election, Caroline Grounds set out the reasons why parents should select her for the role and spoke of her continuing involvement in education.
'I have been a parent of three children at Brookmans Park School for four years. I am currently an undergraduate studying English literature with the intention of starting a masters degree in October, ultimately with the aim of teaching in secondary or higher education.
I am a qualified playgroup teacher, have been a classroom assistant in a Haringey school and have helped in a year 2 class. In previous years I have been a full-time/job-share dinner lady with my husband," she wrote.
