Hands-on fire drill for youth club Report by Martin Ferdinando
Children who attend Club 2000 at the North Mymms Youth and Community Centre were treated to a visit by Red Watch, Potter Bar Fire Station on Tuesday 19th September. The fire officers brought with them Hertfordshire's newest fire engine and allowed the children to look inside the cab and inspect some of the equipment carried. They also spoke to all the children about the dangers of fire and the importance of smoke alarms and ensuring they know what to do in the event of a fire. Club members were shown the clothing worn by fire fighters and one club member was even able to wear it too! Club 2000 runs every Tuesday evening between 6.30 and 8.00pm at the Centre during term time. Contact youth for further details. Martin Ferdinando September 21, 2000 feedback: feedback |
