| Return to Front Contacts BBC News Online | 600 word searches in three months More than 600 searches have been made on this site in the three months since the facility was added. And it seems that education, the environment, local history and genealogy are the main areas of interest. The most searched for word in those three months has been Owens followed closely by Chancellor's, school, Gobions, and then a long list of names featured in the hundreds of pages of local history. The Latin names for certain fungi and butterflies have been entered by some users searching the detailed information about local species. See the pages on fungi and butterflies. In all there are eight complete history books on this site, see the history index, and every name can now be found using the search facility. The most common name so far is Chuck followed by Gubbins, Sambrook and More. The search, on the front page of this site, is free to use. Simply type in the name or word you want and the search engine will list every page on the site where that word or name is mentioned. If you have found the search facility to be of use, or if you have any suggestions, please e-mail with your thoughts. November 20, 1999 |
