Station renovations continue Work is continuing at Brookmans Park station with both the north and south bound platforms being given a complete overhaul. New block paving is being laid inside new edging flags and an improved drainage system introduced. The old brick waiting room, which has stood for more than 60 years but has been boarded up for the last four, has been demolished. According to Railtrack, the renovation work will take several weeks. The recently vandalised shelter will be repaired, although Railtrack and WAGN are still deciding what transparent material, if any, to use. A second shelter will also be erected. The area manager for Railtrack, Phil Heath, announced the face-lift last year following a visit to Brookmans Park. Mr Heath attended a meeting of the North Mymms Residents' Association and examined the state of the station for himself. He was responding to concerns expressed on this site about the run-down condition of the station and vandalism. A new shelter, erected in November, was vandalised days later. Glass had been used by mistake instead of Perspex and now only a few glass panes remain intact.
