Police issue car theft warning

Brookmans Park residents are being warned not to leave their car keys visible downstairs when they go to bed at night. It follows a number of incidents where burglars have taken keys and stolen vehicles.

The alert comes in the latest issue of the local neighbourhood watch newsletter written by community police officer Vojislav Mihailovic.

PC Mihailovic also reports on the vandalism that has left a building in Little Heath, earmarked for local groups and clubs to use, damaged beyond repair.

And he has repeated his warning about go peds or motorises scooters and points out Pine Grove as an area with a particular problem.

He also calls on parents who have children who use roller blades, skateboards and scooters to be careful about letting them loose on the streets. He says children get carried away and forget about their own safety and the safety of others.

“They have been found speeding down the middle of the road, dodging across the road in front of oncoming traffic, speeding down pavements and around corners and straight into people walking,” he says.

And he refers again to this month's reorganisation of the Hertfordshire Constabulary saying that it will mean, “less police officers trying to achieve more and provide you with the quality of policing you deserve”.
