Christmas comes to Bradmore Green
By John Reid of Brookmans Park Rotary
Brookmans Park Rotary Club is setting up a Christmas tree on Bradmore Green this week in preparation for a lighting ceremony on Tuesday, 4 December.
This year the switching on of the lights will be carried out by local actor and Eastenders star, Thomas Law, who plays Peter Beale in the BBC soap. Also in attendance will be the President of the Brookmans Park Rotary Club, Robert Ward, and the chair of North Mymms Parish Council, Keith Pieri. The evening will get underway at 1800, with a visit from Santa in his sleigh at 1815. The switching on of the lights will be at 1830, followed by Christmas carols, accompanied by pupils from Chancellor's School. Complimentary mince pies and hot mulled wine will be served, with the mulled wine supplied courtesy of the Brookmans. The Brookmans Bakery has offered to provide complimentary homemade soup, teas and coffees and somewhere for people to sit down. All are most welcome to attend and join in the evening. This year we are supporting the charity Mercy Ships which provides heath care to the poor around the world, in addition to other charities supported by the Rotary Club of Brookmans Park.
