Trains services resume ahead of schedule Rail services on the Welwyn Garden City line have resumed threer days earlier than expected. Services have been disrupted since the Hatfield derailment last month.
It is understood the service was ready for use earlier but that it had to be given the all clear by safety experts.

Test trains were used to ensure the safety of the track before the decision was taken to allow commuter services to resume.
However an emergency timetable is being drawn up for the service because Railtrack is still working on sections of the line in the area and the frequency and speed of trains is being affected.
WAGN says it will lay on longer trains to try to deal with any crowding. There is also likely to be some disruption with relief buses, particularly at weekends when rail repair work is carried out.
The company is also looking at its compensation payments in the light of the inconvenience being experienced by commuters.
