Emergency rail service to continue

Notices have been posted at Finsbury Park station warning commuters that the emergency rail timetable, put in place following the Hatfield derailment, is likely to continue after the line is cleared and reopened.

West Anglia Great Northern (WAGN) says on its website that rail services between Welwyn Garden City and London will continue to be disrupted until Monday November 13 at the earliest.

But now Railtrack says speed restrictions will remain in place and the emergency timetable will continue.

Railtrack also say that its nationwide rail repair programme could take until Christmas to complete.

WAGN is laying on a shuttle bus service between Brookmans Park and Potters Bar. From there an emergency rail service is operating.

A temporary forum has been set up on this site to try to help those finding it hard to get about because of the rail problems.
