Parish councillors needed
Anyone wanting to stand as a parish councillor at the May elections needs to respond by 22 March. North Mymms has two vacancies because two existing councillors are not seeking re-election. Cllr Bob Horrocks has posted an invitation in this site’s forum to any local residents who might be interested in serving on the council. Cllr Horrocks has also written a feature for this site about what is involved in serving as a parish councillor. The two vacancies are for the Little Heath ward and the Brookmans Park ward. The local elections are being held on 3 May, 2007. To be eligible to serve on NMPC you must be 21 or older, British or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union. You must have lived in the parish or within 5 km (3 miles) of it for at least a year and you cannot be employed by NMPC. You can check the NMPC website to find out what serving as a parish councillor involves or phone the council offices on 01707 357000. You can discuss this issue in this site’s forum. March 10, 2007
