Village wins ICT award

Village wins ICT Award 2007

Brookmans Park has won the title of Hertfordshire's ICT village of the year for the second time in three years.

The award is for the village that makes the best use of information communication technology.

Brookmans Park won the award in 2004 and went on to win the regional title for the East of England.

This year the rules have been changed. The local winners of this category of Village of the Year don't go on to the regional finals.

North Mymms Parish Councillor, Bob Horrocks, says the parish council will now receive a certificate and a 100 prize.

Parish councillor, Peter Hastings, was at the event on behalf of North Mymms Parish Council. Writing in this site's forum, he said the award was a "great credit to all involved."

The competition is organised by the CPRE, the Campaign to Protect Rural England and sponsored by Calor. The 100 prize and certificate will be handed to the parish council on Saturday 21 July.
