Two people died and two others were injured when a helicopter and a microlight aircraft collided over Welham Green.

The helicopter landed in a field opposite St Thomas More Church in Station Road. It has a smashed canopy. The microlight crashed in a field near Dixons Hill Road.

Police have cordoned off the area surrounding the crash site as investigations continue.

Station Road, between Bradmore Lane and Dixons Hill Road has been closed since the crash, which happened just before 1300.

Police expect to released the names of the dead and injured after all family members have been contacted. Visit BBC News Online for the latest details.
