Sales of history book better than expected

The recent reprint of North Mymms Parish and People is selling ‘like hot cakes’ according to the local history society.
The paperback version of the late Dorothy Colville’s book was only released a week ago, but already people have been snapping up copies.
John Harris of the North Mymms Local History Society (NMLHS) said that when he delivered the book to Brookmans Park News, which had agreed to stock it, he was told ‘where have you been, you are late, we have had people asking for the book already’.
He got a similar reaction at Welwyn Green Garage when he arrived there to drop the books off. People had already been in asking for copies.
"At this rate the reprint is going to go in no time, thanks mainly to the publicity given to it on the Brookmans Park Newsletter," he said.
In the future John says he is going to do his delivery run before making the news public on this site, which attracts more than 700 visits a day.
The NMLHS decided on the reprint of the 128-page book after copies of the previous versions sold out. ‘North Mymms Parish and People’ is reproduced, in full, in the history section.
The paperback version sells for £5 a copy and can be bought from Brookmans Park News on Bradmore Green, the Welham Green Service Station, or ordered from Len Palmer, 53 Bluebridge Road, Brookmans Park 01707-655333. If you want Len to post the book to you, the charges are as follows...

‘North Mymms Pictures from the Past’ is the second print run of the popular collection of more than 100 snaps of local scenes and people, some dating back 130 years.
