Top marks for local school Brookmans Park Primary has topped all expectations in the classroom and on the sports field. The schools SATS results have beaten all targets and the school stormed the Hatfield schools athletics competition. In his latest Dear Parent letter to all parents and guardians, headteacher Peter Evans described the SATS results as excellent. The target for this year, which he admits were quite ambitious, was to raise the percentage from 13% in 2000 to 20% in 2001. The actual percentage he says was 26%. Mr Evans also heaps glowing praise on the schools athletic youngsters. Twelve schools took part in the Hatfield schools athletics competition held at the Gosling Stadium and Brookmans Park scored 206 points with the second school collecting 118 and third place 112. Mr Evans said all children preformed extremely well and the cup will be displayed proudly in the library for the next year. In the latest school newsletter, edited by Mandy English, there are details of the installation of new computer equipment, a computerised library system and plans for a new school website.
