Posters promote disaster relief event
Posters are being distributed throughout the area promoting a local charity event in aid of the survivors of the tsunami disaster.
The Wave Aid fund raising event is being held in Potters Barís Wyllyotts Theatre at the end of the month.
Organisers say that proceeds will go to Tsunami Earthquake Appeal being organised by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
According to BBC News Online, the DEC says it is "winding down" its tsunami aid appeal, saying it has received 2.8 million donations so far (worth more than £200m) and that the money would make a "real difference" to the affected areas over coming years.
The BBC reports that there will be no more advertising for the appeal, but that the DEC expects fund-raising events to continue.
The local Wave Aid event is being held at 7.30 pm on Friday, 28 January. Tickets are £10 and can be booked at the Wyllyotts box office 01707-645005.
For further information phone Sylvia Knight on 01707-658636 or Grace Bays on 01707-645005.
Posters are being distributed throughout Brookmans Park and Potters Bar over the next few days. Click on the image above or here to see a larger image of the poster.
Organisers say it promises to be an entertaining evening, "with the benefit of raising funds for the world's biggest relief campaign to support the millions left shattered by Asia's tsunami disaster."
