Call for one-day boycott of trains

A new group has been set up which aims to represent the concerns of all rail users. The group is pushing for all passengers to take part in a one day boycott of trains on Friday March 1.

The group, Better Railway Advisory Group or BRAG, has been set up by commuter David da Costa.

In a news release on his site, which launched on Tuesday January 8, he states that the aim of the group is to seek change through public pressure.

The site says that, “By coordinating and representing the views of all rail passengers and by registering their interests and concerns as to the state of our national rail service, we will put pressure on this government to take note of public opinion.

“We therefore invite every rail user to register their comments which will be used as part of our national effort to lobby the rail industry and the government into acting upon the concerns of all rail passengers.”

The site says that BRAG has been set up by passengers, for passengers and is totally independent of any official government or industry body. Its associated membership base makes it by far the largest passenger representation group within the UK.

This is the second site to be launched in as many weeks to help commuters register their concerns about the state of the railways and rail services.

A site aimed at registering feedback from WAGN customers has been built by a single WAGN user.

It exists so that comments, both good and bad, can be recorded in an effort to bring about changes where needed.

You can comment on any issue from the state car parks through to train failures. There is also a section for humour.

The site asks for registration details but requires only a user name and password.

This site's 'Have Your Say' section also contains feedback on services provided by WAGN.
