Volunteers needed for local CAB
The area's Citizens Advice Bureau needs more local volunteer advisers. You'll be given full training before joining the team of 28 advisers and 19 administrators based at the Hatfield CAB office.
Volunteer advisers deal with a wide variety of topics including housing, employment, family, benefits and debt work.
Working hours are from 09:20 to 14:00, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, although advisers often also need to work outside those times to allow for administration work.
You can do either one whole day a week, or two half days of one morning and one afternoon or two mornings.
Training sessions will initially be held on Wednesday mornings and the next group is expected to start at the beginning of March.
The Welwyn Hatfield CAB is holding an open morning at their offices at Queensway House, Queensway, Hatfield, on Wednesday 15 February at 10:30.
Anyone interested in finding out more is invited to attend or contact Nina Lewis on 01707-260934.
According to the CAB, 3,650 local people were helped last year. The organisation says that with more advisers, even more can be done.
