Local crime meetings continue
Parish councillors are to meet officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary to discuss measures to combat crime in the area and the level of policing currently provided.
One of the items on the agenda is whether the parish council will part-fund a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) who would be dedicated to North Mymms parish.
According to Cllr Bob Horrocks, writing in this site's forum, the problem is that the parish council precept has already been fixed for 2006/7, which means there is nothing in the budget that could be cut out to part-fund the PCSO.
The meeting, which is being held on Wednesday, 8 March, is not open to the public.
It's the latest initiative in a series of meetings already held this year following a spate of shop break in around Brookmans Park’s Bradmore Green in January.
The area’s MP, Grant Shapps, has met the Hertfordshire Constabulary's Area Commander, Chief Superintendent, Alison Roome-Gifford, to talk about crime levels in the area.
Last week, 120 local residents attended a public meeting at Brookmans Park URC, called by community police officer, PC Jitu Dave, following concerns expressed about local crime in this site’s forum.
