Police get tough on anti-social car use
Police are telling young drivers to turn off their engines and turn down the volume when parked in the village at night.
Officers say youngsters who sit in their cars with the engines running and music thumping could have their vehicles seized. Police have already spoken to some known offenders and have made it clear that it must stop.
Community police officer, Vojislav Mihailovic says police have the power to seize vehicles used in an anti-social manner.
He’s calling on local residents to let him know if the problem happens in their area. He want to know the time and place and what vehicles were involved. PC Mihailovic says any local residents who report the problem must be prepared to give a statement to support police action. You can also contact the community police team on 01707-638112.
