Red boxes - first collection
The red boxes for glass recycling will be emptied for the first time today, Monday, February 3.
They need to be placed at the end of your drive by 8am to be sure of being emptied. Welwyn Hatfield District Council has handed out 40,000 boxes in an effort to encourage recycling. The plan is to empty the boxes every four weeks, but users of this forum have questioned whether the boxes are big enough or the collections frequent enough. The initiative follows on from the delivery of green boxes for storing old newspapers. The authority also operates monthly garden waste collections. The list below sets out when you can expect collections to take place over the coming months. If you have lost the card that was handed out you can print this page.
