Local primary schools reopen

Hertfordshire County Council have announced on their website that the vast majority of primary schools that were closed following the Buncefield Explosions will be open as usual on Wednesday 14th December.

Following advice from health experts Hertfordshire County Council took the decision to close all schools within a 10 mile radius of the Buncefield Oil depot in Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday 13th December, however their website now reports that all Hertfordshire Schools will be open tomorrow apart from those in the immediate vicinity of the explosion which were significantly damaged by the blast.

One of the governors from Brookmans Park Primary School has again contacted this website to confirm that the school is definitely open on Wednesday, and that the Infant Christmas Performance will continue as planned (see their website for more details).
