Parish hands prize to website

Village wins ICT Award 2007

North Mymms Parish Council has donated its ICT Village of Year prize to help fund this site’s ongoing costs.

Brookmans Park has been voted to be the Hertfordshire village that makes the best use of information communication technology (ICT) for the second time in three years.

North Mymms parish councillor, Peter Hastings, received a plaque and a cheque for £100, at an awards ceremony last month.

At a recent meeting, the parish council recommended that the prize money be used to pay for the domain name,, when it is up for renewal in 2009.

When Brookmans Park last won the award, in 2004, the parish council voted to fund the renewal costs of £25 a year for five years.

In a letter to this site, the parish council thanked the Brookmans Park Newsletter for the effort that is put into running the site.

“The members of North Mymms Parish Council appreciate your continual contribution to the website and wholeheartedly thank you for your valuable input.”

The Brookmans Park Newsletter team is grateful to the council for the gesture and gratefully accepts the donation.

The competition is organised by the CPRE, the Campaign to Protect Rural England and sponsored by Calor.
