Crime down in Welwyn Hatfield
Police say crime fell by 7.2% over the past year, with 718 fewer incidents than in the previous year. Hertfordshire Constabulary's Area Commander, Alison Roome-Gifford, says the general public has played a large part in the reduction through neighbourhood watch schemes and the activities of other community groups. “Aside from the hard work of our officers, the Police Community Support Officers, police staff and partner agencies put in to keep crime down, we also have to give huge thanks to the general public, who are our eyes and ears in the community," she said. The Policing Year runs from April 1 to April 1.
