Politicians invited to get involved

An open invitation has been sent out to local politicians to join this site's forum and offer answers to some of the questions raised by 700 posts on almost 100 local issues.

The forum has only been going ten weeks but already it is proving a popular place for discussing local concerns. And the debates appear to span all ages with young and old joining in discussing the issues that matter to them.

What is needed is some way of advancing some of the concerns raised.

Online residents' association

A new residents' association is evolving, NMORA - the North Mymms Online Residents' Association - with a committee beginning to come together. The aim is that NMORA will consider the issues discussed in the forum and decide how to alert the relevant authorities. You can join the discussion about the proposed residents' association.

Involving local politicians

Meanwhile an e-mail has gone out to local MP Melanie Johnson (Labour), County Councillor Bill Storey (Conservative), MEPs (Eastern Region) Andrew Duff (Lib Dem), Christopher Beazley (Conservative) and Eryl McNally (Labour), Welwyn Hatfield District Council and North Mymms Parish Council inviting them to join in and give some answers to the questions raised in the forum. You can read the invitation and follow the discussion so far.

The feedback provided by the forum should offer the politicians a priceless measure of the issues and concerns affecting the communities they serve.
