Local resident issues theft warning
A Brookmans Park resident is warning people to be extra vigilant after thieves made an unsuccessful visit to his house at the weekend.
The man, who lives in Bradmore Way, has posted notes through doors describing the incident that happened in broad daylight.
He says a white Transit van with two men inside pulled up outside his home at about 11am. One got out and opened the rear door while the other walked down the driveway returning a short while later with a black plastic bag which he threw in to the van. They then drove off.
The men are described as being about 30 years age, one had black hair and both were wearing white shirts. One is described as having a beer belly.
It is thought the black bin bag contained only rubbish but it follows a similar incident in nearby Essendon when two men driving a white van stole garden equipment.
The owner of the house has written to neighbours reminding them to make sure garden equipment and tools are marked.
He is also urging people who see anything suspicious to make a note of any vehicles, registration number plus description of the suspects and contact the police.
A similar warning has been made on several occasions by the community police office in his regular neighbourhood watch newsletters which are published on this site.April 5, 2001
