Foot-and-mouth ban challenged
Pressure is growing on North Mymms Parish Council to relax its foot-and-mouth restrictions.
A number of e-mails to this site's 'Have Your Say' section have highlighted problems associated with the recent closure of Gobions Open Space.
The area is popular with people exercising their dogs, with the local scouts and cubs and with people simply wanting to enjoy the countryside.
But last month, North Mymms Parish Council decided both Gobions and Moffats Open Spaces should be closed as a foot-and-mouth precaution.
At the same time the trustees of the adjacent Gobions Woodland decided to keep the popular woods open to all.
That decision has been warmly applauded, again in this site's 'Have Your Say' section, while the NMPC decision continues to be questioned.
