Gobions Wood to stay open
Gobions Wood is to remain open to the public. The trustees have decided not to close the area despite concerns about foot-and-mouth disease.
Last month North Mymms Parish Council decided to close Gobions Open Space and Moffats Open Space because of the foot-and-mouth outbreak.
Gobions Woods can only be accessed from two entrances, one off the east end of Mymms Drive and the other by the bridge off Bluebridge Road at the south end of the village.
Volunteers who work in Gobions Wood each weekend say they have received many words of thanks from the general public for keeping the area open. It is popular for people exercising their pets, jogging and walking.
