About Brookmans Park Rotary The Rotary Club of Brookmans Park was formed in 1990 and now has 30 members, both men and women, all of whom work or live within the local community. Rotary is an international service organisation, which aims to respond to the needs of people locally, nationally and internationally. This club raises funds through a number of events, including the annual Little Heath School Fireworks Display in conjunction with the schools PTA, an annual Sponsored Swim at Furzefield Leisure Centre, a Barn Dance in a real barn, a Quiz Evening and many other fun activities. Many thousands of pounds have been raised and put to work over the last few years. Lakeside School in Welwyn Garden City, for children with special needs, has been helped with the building and equipping of a special hydrotherapy pool. We have very strong links with Motivation; a charity that sets up self-sustaining projects in developing countries to produce low cost locally made wheelchairs. We also provide assistance to individuals with particular needs and when asked by other local organisations. Members are also involved with local schools with mentoring schemes, job talks, work experience and mock interviews. There is also an annual Kids Out day where we take children and helpers to Whipsenade Zoo. The Brookmans Park Rotary club meets every Tuesday night at the San Felice restaurant. Herts Police
